Expert opinion in a civil case
I prepared a forensic expert opinion in a civil case brought against a logistics service provider. The question was whether the employer had done everything that could reasonably be expected during warehouse material handling.
The opinion was based on an objective assessment of the available documentation (risk assessment, work instructions, training logs, machine manuals, maintenance records) and on-site conditions. In such cases the issue is often not whether a document exists, but whether what it describes actually worked in practice.
The opinion clearly separated findings supported by evidence from probable but unproven claims, and identified questions that could not be answered from the available data. Independence means the opinion is no stronger than the facts behind it.
